Soap Care

Tips for longer lasting soap

We are dedicated to hand making natural soap from scratch: the old-fashioned way. Through extensive research and testing (on ourselves), we have developed the perfect base formula to suit all ages and all skin types. You will find that our unique soap is perfect for your skin.

Natural handmade soaps are different than commercial soaps from the making process to the end result and feeling. With that in mind you have to care for them differently. We made the following list of tips to help you prolong the life of your handmade soaps.

1. Avoid HOT water

  • Our handmade soaps are made with natural oils, because of this hot water will affect the oils in the soap and cause them to melt.

  • *** Remember: this is just a recommendation to help prolong the life of your soap. If you love hot showers/baths then do what makes you feel good. Just know that the soap will be used quickly in hotter water.

2. Use an appropriate soap dish or soap saver.

  • Having a soap dish or saver helps tremendously prolong the life of your handmade soap by allowing it to dry quicker as it does not sit in its own heat and wetness that makes it melt.

  • Be sure to have one that allows air to flow over and under your soap.

  • If you opt for a sponge saver the parts of your soap that melt away can be reused as the soap gets trapped inside the sponge and makes it a soap sponge.

3. KEEP AWAY from WATER and let AIR dry

  • Leaving your handmade soap in direct contact with water by storing it after usage under the shower head will waste away your soap quickly. So, while in the shower or bath remove the soap from direct contact with water.

  • You can allow the natural air from outside flow over your bar of soap if you have a bathroom window.

  • An alternative is to simply keep your soap in a well-ventilated area and soap dish away from your shower/bath area. This will keep the soap away from the majority of moisture that accumulates around your shower area.
