Copy editing enhances the quality of your writing. It is a challenging and highly specialized task that demands a thorough understanding of language, grammar, and punctuation, as well as patience and a keen eye for detail. As your copy editor I will correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors, address issues with style, continuity, and plot logic, and refine any questionable word choices.

I offer a brief assessment and a sample edit (usually 2 - 3 pages) free of charge.

Some manuscripts need additional assistance to reach a professional quality. My manuscript finishing services provide high-quality copy editing that will further enhance your work by improving sentence structure, replacing vague or weak word choices, and ensuring the text flows smoothly and naturally. When necessary, I will completely rewrite certain passages.*

*All edits and rewrites will require your final approval or rejection.

The Collaboration Survey is designed to help us collaborate and ensure that I respect your work, voice, and ideas. So that I can better understand your intentions as the author and tailor my editing approach to best support your vision.

I will give you a date for your work with the quote. I normally aim to return your work within two weeks of receipt of your manuscript and payment; deadlines may change depending on the condition of the manuscript, or the volume of work I have. However, if you have a specific deadline, or you are working on a shorter timescale, I can arrange to return your work on a specific date.
